The lift is powered by a 12 volt 1 h.p. electric motor.  A worm gear driven ball screw assembly drives the lifting mechanism to raise or lower the platform.  The platform is of strong tubular steel construction, with a non-slip expanded metal surface.  It incorporates a passively activated front gate which acts as the loading and unloading platform, with side panels.
